We're starting off this list with a bang! Brimstone Brewing Company, a local brewery only a stone's throw from Crystal Beach, is throwing their Punk Rock Pilsner Party at The Sanctuary Centre for the Arts to release their new pilsner. If you've never been, The Sanctuary is a community-based, multi-use facility built from a re-imagined 20th-century church! It is also known as a premier wedding venue, theatre space, fundraiser venue and, probably most famously of all, amazing concerts space. You won't want to miss this event filled with great beer, incredible food, and punk rock music.
Bringing it to family-friendly territory, The Optimist Club of Fort Erie is hosting a breakfast with the one and only Easter Bunny! Feel free to stop by and visit to make a new fluffy-tailed friend for free, but bring your appetite because the club is also offering a big breakfast of pancakes and sausages with coffee, tea, or juice for only $6. If you stick around, there is a colouring contest for each age group from 2 to 12 with an Easter gift basket awarded to the winning picture. Of course, all proceeds from the event go towards helping children within the Fort Erie area.
The first annual Eco Market is coming to your area this spring! Go celebrate the importance of greener living and sustainability with local artists, brands, and goods. Featuring businesses that promote a greener approach to retail through the 3 R's, sustainability, zero waste, health & wellness, handcraft, and eco-friendly options. The event is also going to have speakers presenting ideas and options for you, yourself, to live greener! Why not spend your day immersing yourself in eco-friendly practices right as all the greenery returns after that long winter?
Don't miss your opportunity to step back in time with the guided Fenian Walking Tour of the Fight at the Fort Erie Docks. Led by author/ historian June Chipp, this walk will take you through the dramatic fight that took place when the Welland Canal Field Battery and the Dunnville Naval Brigade faced the invading American forces in 1866. This is a great opportunity to take advantage of the nice weather while learning more about the history that built this area; all for free.
